volk te-37 question for all you wheel experts
ok people, looking at te-37s for my evo.
would an 18x8.5 22mm offset fit? which size tire would i run? also, do you think fender rolling is necessary to make them fit.
let me know guys/gals,
-jbigs

anyways, the volk brochure says that this size is ok for the mitsu evo to run.
i was the first in the US to run volk sf-winnings on my 350z with 19x9.5 19mm fronts and 19x10.5 17mm rears. i was also the first to run the same size wheels but 22mm offset te-37s all around on the 350z. no one believed that it could be done, but i did it.
i was just wondering adam because the volk brochure specifically says that the evo could run this size. if you could double check adam, that would be great.
changy on this board is running 17x9 with 22mm offset te37 with 255/40, but had to roll the fenders. if it was an 8.5 wheel with a 245/40 tire or 235/40 tire, then i'm thinking this would fit.
anyways, anyone out there want to chime in?
thanx for the reply adam,
john

Hey John - hows everything?
recommended according to Volk is 18x8.5 +30- going 8mm lower on offset without changing width is going to wreak havoc on the wheel bearings over time I think

I have TE37s that are 18x8.5 +30 MM Offset, they work great, they are very flush with the car, and thats a good thing! Be very sure not to have it stick out too much or have it tucked too much with the wrong offset, that can be detrimental to performance. I suggest if you perfer to have it wider, just get 18x9... not sure if they make those though...
Fender Rolling is not necessary, I have my car lower like 1.78 inches due to my RS*R springs and it sits well in the fender, there is like 1 inch gap, it sits nicely. Hope this helps.
Here are pics of my TE-37s

i forget who but i remember seeing pics of a shop on here trying out the evo offset. i think they had them lying around in the shop and figured they'd try it out to see how it looked. i thought it looked hot. i'm not sure what the exact offset was but it was straight from volk i think. they have a supra offset already made.

I believe VISHNU was testing a bunch of various tire sizes and offsets? They use TE37s I believe on their One Lap of America race tour and they obviously pulled off some incredible results using those rims. Correct me if I am wrong, I just remember bits and pieces off their website and on this site.
Thanks for the compliments guys, I am quite satisfied with my rims however only complaint is the stupid Volk Racing / Rays Engineering stickers are peeling off... so I had to order new ones.
