Try playing with inflation pressures. Go about 5 PSI above normal and see how you like the response. I bet the steering response will be improved.

I wouldn't recommend much above that for everyday driving, but I've tested -- in autocross conditions -- with pressures as high as 59 PSI (that was on Toyo RA1s, and it was way too much pressure).

Plus, running the tires with a little higher pressure improves fuel economy, and with today's fuel prices, every little bit helps.

I too debated after roaching two sets of Advans. My buddy also fried two sets in much quicker time so we each just bought a set of tires.
He went with the Bridgestone S-03. I cracked and put out for another set of Advans.
Each car is bone stock, 2003.
My impressions after driving each on the same day:
Bridgestone: Had I not driven the Advans, this would be an exceptional tire. It rides a bit better (in terms of smoothness) than the Advans. The road noise is slightly less also. It does, however, give up some steering quickness. Grip, while indeed great, simply does not match the Advan.
Yokohama: We both agreed that this tire cannot be improved upon yet. Whether leaving half of it on the pavement every time you go to the store is worth it, well, I guess it is for me since I'm on my third set and I may have to get a paper route just to feed my tire habit.

I couldn't agree more. I bought the PS2 and used it for 1000 miles and brought the tires back to Discount Tire. They took them back and I paid the difference between the two. With the PS2s the ride was bumpy and the confidence and precision of what the car was doing was gone. I am thrilled to have the Advans back on my car! I won't make that mistake again!

^^ Have you got them? I'm getting ready to order from Neal@ tire rack. I've still got a little time left on my Toyo's (even though everyone seems to think they're toast). But they still seem to grip great with the little tread left, even when wet outside.

Got them on and loving them. Installed today at NTB. Pricey but why cheap out on tires when they are the only thing keeping your car attached to the pavement. I had Toyo's and the Advans are superior already.

Hey, Falken lovers! The new Falken RT-615 (255/40-17)--"Next generation street competition"--at $160 a pop, look pretty tempting.

Hey all,

Check out my pics I posted of the Neova's on my car. These are hands down the best tires I have EVER put on any of my cars. I got stuck in some driving rain this weekend and they were extremely stable at highway speeds.
