Yeah, the S-03 with its wet compound will handle wet weather better than the KD. Dry traction is a bit better as well. The KD will wear and ride a bit better, but my vote still stands with the S-03

Toyo T1-S call it a day. I don't even miss my ADVANS I run 245/ 40 I love them great on the track (Official tire of the Speed World Challenge) Great in the wet and will get you through mild winters forget everything else also they got a stiff sidewall so the steering feel/speed is not compromised. I've had expierence with the So-3s, Neros, and KDW's. I love the Toyos More. If you want superSticky get the Toyo RA-1. The T1-S is a great tire and they wear well which is a huge plus for a tire this good.

So your saying the s-03 is better for both wet and dry? I'm not worried about winter at all.. I got a set of blizzaks from you guys last winter and they are still in good shape for this winter

The only thing that made me think that KDW might be better in dry is that is has "Ultra High Performance Summer" where the S-03 has "Max Performance Summer".

I really like doing business with tire rack so Toyo is a no go

Are you comparing the KD or the KDW to the S-03? As Neal mentioned the S-03 is better than the KD and my own experience finds this to be true having used both tires on my previous cars. However the KDW is quite a step down from both the KD and the S-03.

The Toyos are lighter and perform equally if not better than the S03s. You're crazy if you go with the S03s. Just because Tire Rack doesn't carry Toyos doesn't mean you shouldn't get them. I ran them on my 350Z and they were no less than awesome for a street tire. Great wear, great in the wet, handled very well and are like 5 pounds lighter than the S03s. That's 25 lbs in unsprung weight just in the tire. That's a lot. Be smart!

I had a bad experience with Toyo's .. I had bought some RS4's I think.. man they sucked.. But your right I'll check them out as well.. dropping 25lbs from the wheels would make a HUGE difference.

I've got the RE750's on my stock wheels. they're a little less responsive than the Advans, but they are very balanced when I felt a little understeer with the advans. And they're very good in the wet. I highly recommend the Bridgestones.

Looks like the TS-1's are around 170 a tire.. I wish tire rack had these I enjoy doing biz with them. I had some Toyo RS4's (i think) on my Celica and they didn't hook up at all.

What are you talking about? To clear up a few things, just because the T1S is the spec tire for the Speed World Challenge doesn't mean it's the best tire in the world. One, they use them shaved to the point of almost being a slick. This is also only for the Touring Car division. The GT car division uses the RA-1.

SCCA did not pick Toyo because they have the best tires in the world. Toyo is a paying sponsor of the Speed World Challenge.

Saying the S-03 is a crap cheap tire boggles me. If anything they would equal the T1S. In reality they are better, I have driven on both. The T1S is super sensitive to inflation pressures. Differences as small as 2psi (such as increases from heat induced through hard driving) dramatically affect their performance. They're not a bad tire but neither is the S-03.
