is there a tire that is better than the stock advans that can be driven daily?

ive searched and read till my eyes began to bleed. it seems like the advans are the way to go for dry handling. however, my biggest concern is living in south fl. where it rains extremely hard, i need something with better than average wet traction. does such a tire exist? i would prefer something with similar or better dry traction and better wet traction. please give me some suggestions as i need tires badly. thanks.

this topic has been discussed numerous times before and from what i gather, toyo t1-s is the top choice for dry and WET handling similar or comparable to the stock advans.

Michelin Pilot Sports, not cheap but you'll get your money "back" because they'll outlast the advans (~2.5x) or S-03 (~1.5x) by quite a bit. Very good wet and dry too.

Paul,
Do you mean the Pilot Sports or the newer Pilot Sport 2. I don't believe the PS2 is available in 235 45 17 yet, but maybe the 245 40 17 would work fine??

If your on a budget, the Kumho MX would be a great tire to use. Bridgestones S-03 or its little brother the RE750 is also worth looking at

Falken ZE-512's in the 245/45 ZR 17. I'm in Louisiana so I know what you mean about the really wet traction and seldom dry. Price is good.

I actually had better wet weather traction with my falkin azenis sports than I did with michilen pilot sports.

The michilens have a super soft sidewall. Ask the majority of porsche drivers and they all agree that the michilen pilot sports suck...

It's a nice tire but I'll never use them again.

Toyo T1-S's is the way to go, i've been really shocked how they handle in the wet and the dry traction isn't far behind the advans.

How about the parelli p zero nero? How does that stack up against the Advans and say the S-03 and Azenis?

I just got them and they are great plus they have 280 treadwear rating. They get stick when hot

Pilot Sports not II. The IIs are better still but more $$(?). The softer sidewall of the sports works great on the EVO as a long lasting daily driver tire, they get rid of the tramlining that the Advan's have. Still say you can't beat their combination of grip and life. Some may be better at one thing or an other but the Sports are the best all-rounders. My 2c
