Narrower tires cut thru ice and snow easier than a wider tire does. To use a narrower tire like the 215/50-17, you have to use a narrower wheel because the stock wheel is too wide. Thus the recommendation for a narrower wheel.

The stock 235's will fit both the stock 17x8's and narrower 17x7.5. So in that case it would be a cost savings situation.

Props to Niel on hooking me up with the KA3s last year. Being a heavier rim, they fare well in winter abuse. BTW, last year, Utah got a LOT of HEAVY snowfall and the Conti Sport Contact Extremes did perfectly fine on the EVO. I had the 215/50-17s and due to being lazy, have ran them all year. That was with at times, 'pushing' the snow out of a uphill driveway multiple times last year. Don't underestimate the 'functionality' of AWD. The Contis actually do really well in the summer .

Cheers,

jcnel.

Sweet! Yeah, I had the Contis on a car of mine before I sold it and they did great. With AWD the tire is even better. Seems to be the best all season snow performer option for the EVO's

Neal, what is the best way to obtain a price quote from you? Should I just call your number listed?
