Winter Tire and Wheel Reminder
Hey all! Just want to give everyone the heads up as we move out of summer (what summer we had) and into the fall/winter season. At the time of this post stock looks pretty good, but it does go fast. Other vehicles share the EVO fitment so there are others buying the same stuff you are. Bridgestone Blizzaks are usually the first to go so get them soon! The only 17x7.5" wheel we have for the EVO ( ASA KA3 ) will probably be the first wheel to go.
I would recommend placing an advance order when you are sure of your selection, rather than wait until you are in the midst of the snow season. This will help assure the product you want will be available for you, and likely get it to you ahead of the snowfall. Our order process does not charge your credit card until the product leaves our warehouse, so no advance charges will appear on your monthly card statement until your order ships out to you.

The KA3 is currently priced at $155 each + tires and shipping. The best tire for the worst conditions is the Bridgestone Blizzak WS-50. You will trade some wear for better snow traction, but its well worth it. If you want a bit better handling, I'd look at the Dunlop Winter Sport M3, or Michelin Pilot Alpin PA2

I think I may also look toward getting some cheap rims for my LM-22's I got from you last year. What's the cheapest rim you sell that fits the EVO? I don't really care what it looks like.. anything would work (unless its hot pink)

For those in not so inclimate weather, reconsider snow tires....just buy some Sumitomos A/S, Toyo A/S, Michelin Pilot A/S, etc....much better suited to UHP AWD car.

No. In all seriousness, winter tires are good for heavy snowfall areas. Soft rubber, soft carcassed tires with knobby and aggressive treads fare well in the snow, but have otehrwise poor traction and overall performance. With good tires like TireRack.com sells, like the BFG KDWS (a favorite), the Sumitomo HTR+ (had a set, soft sidewall but good snow/all season. wore quickly) and 6 and one half dozen other selections, its a no brainer to put a blocky tread UHP tire (like the KDWS) on a 4wd car and be done with it. You won't sacrifice anything during the cold months, and put on a regular set (PS2's for me) in the summer.

I couldnt justify buying a set of brand new wheels and ruin them in the winter. I'll probably just use my stockers for winter, and get some nice wheels for the warmer months.
