will lowering the EVO make it handle worse?

i love the feel of the stock suspension, but i just have a thing for a lower ride.

i was thinking about tein springs but i dont want to mess with the set up if its gonna do harm. looks arent as important as how well the car handles.

anyone have any feedback?

SEARCH. this has been covered many times.

i think the general consensus is yes. the only exceptions i've even remotely heard of are the *edit* tanabe springs and possibly the ralliart ones.

thanks for the info. it seems that that Tanabe GF210 and the Eibach springs will keep it at stock or better as long as the car is aligned properly.

If your going to go with springs go with tein "H tech" or "S tech". If you want to have your evo to have a nice soft ride go with Eibachs

That's not true. The Eibachs are progressive and the specs posted on this website are incorrect. They were measured at their most expanded state which is softer for a nice ride. They should have been compressed about an inch and they would have measured much stiffer spring rates. The Eibachs are the best bet for the EVO currently. The Tein stuff is total crap. Even their coilovers suck.

I have the Tein H-techs. the car is definatley lower, but ride is almost identical to stock...i love these springs.

My car is definately the most comfortable lowered car i have ever been in.

Besides Rez90 I have hear that the Tein Springs are horrible. If you search a little you will probably find more complaints for the Teins then any other springs. But I have heard nothing but rave reviews for the Swift springs and many members on here who autocross, running the swifts, love them.

Wow....you're right, old post!

Things have changed....for the better. I think the community is a little smarter and looks for more technical details now.

It's that, and the fact that more of the more recently designed springs combine a decent drop (which is what most people who buy springs want) with enhanced performance, compared to certain older springs that give the car a nice drop but completely deteriorate handling.
