18" x 8.5" TE37's / Fitment Question

I am looking at getting a set of 18" x 8.5" Volk TE37's and was wondering if anybody else has the same setup?

The Volks are 18" x 8.5" with a +30mm offset, the stock Evo wheels are 17" x 8" with a +38mm offset.

With the difference in offset, the outside edge of the wheel / tire will be .565" farther "out" than the stock wheels, which would put the outside edge of the tire even with the very edge of the fender (both front and rear).

I would like to run this setup but don't want the wheels to be "pokin".

My car is still on stock suspension so clearance shouldn't be a problem, just wondering if anyone else is running this setup and what their thoughts are about?

Thanks,
Bob

Thanks NvsEvo,
Hey on another note, how do you like the Tein springs? Probably rides a little smoother than the stockers, huh?
Ciao

Also are you running 235/40/18's or 245/40?

I have the TE-37's on my EVO. Looks perfect and no rubbing with 245/40-18 tires.

Steering still feels pretty much the same as stock. No torque steer problem.

Some tires with wider treads might hit the fender. I have heard from people running 245/40 BFGs and S-03s get slight rubbing.
I'm running with Kumho Ecsta MXs and there's no rubbing.

I use Tein Super Street coilovers. They are designed for street driven, so the ride is pretty comfortable (better than stock imo), but can be much stiffer on harder setting.

Thanks IS2000 . . . that's some good info. I have a set of Tein SS's on my other ride and I really like them. The stock Evo suspension is awesome as far as handling goes but I have been looking at something that is a little smoother than the stock setup, but with adjustabilty.
Thanks for the info!
