Scorke
Since con-rod transmits all the compression pressure from piston to crankshaft, huge amount of energy concerns to the con-rod. Moreover, it works as a moving unit combined with piston, its balance of inertia mass influences greatly to the smoothness of engine rotation, and the durability in high rotation.

H-Beam Profile:

Usually to give connecting rod buckling strength and light weight character at the same time, H-beam or I-beam profile is applied. And the choice of the profile is depending on its purpose, use environment, production cost and quantity. Tomei applied H-beam profile for the connecting rod and succeeded in gaining high buckling strength while reducing the weight.
Design to make a good use of 'metal flow':

Tomei produced connecting rod's forging mold with a main bearing hole in its large end, so as to the 'metal flow' funs along connecting rod's entire body. And with a use of special material, Tomei succeeded in producing connecting rod with extreme intensity and durability.

High durable connecting rod, which is designed and made with special forging mold can keep its original shape from distortion even at the high RPM that more than 1 ton of pressure concerns.

Metal flow; which is also known as 'fiber flow', indicates the strength of the metal and is siad to hold two times more strength than regular steel without it. Moreover, direction of the metal flow has to be controlled when giving it certain strength.
Strength of the Large End:

Lack of the large end's strength leads metal housing to distort and the bearing to worn out. to secure enough strength, we applied 'round shoulder shape' at the link of rod and large end.
Structure of the Small End:

To provide lubrication oil to the bush in small end, instead of sending oil through the long hole inside the rod from the large end, we assembled tapered oil hole at the top of the small end so that the oil will drip during piston's compressing cycle. In this way the strength of the rod won't be spoiled.
Connecting Rod Bolt:

Specially selected material is used for the connecting rod bolt to endure the extremely high tension. Tomei ordered the production of their ideal bolt from ARP, Inc. USA.
Applying SNCM439 Grade Alloy Steel:
SNCM439 alloy steel, which is used only for the special parts where extremely high strength is required, is applied from the material of the connecting rod. Blended nickel contributed to giving high strength and durability, which is required for the high performance blown engine, to the connecting rod.
Dowel Pin:

Dowel pin is installed on the top of the bolt hole in order to prevent worn out metal and bearing which caused by slip faces of two parts tied with bolts.
Lightweight modification:

Cutting off any superfluous possible while securing enough strength.

is there a reson why the motor prices are almost $4k over buying direct from Tomei? i understand a business has to make a profit but that is a little steep. the Gen phase 1 is 650K Yen ($5584.19 US), & the Gen phase 2 is 1.05M Yen ($9020.61 US). these currency numbers are directly from www.xe.com just curious that's all. i could see the above prices to include shipping...
