Whoa, for some reason I haven't been getting updates on this thread.
Anyway, the only reason I can see for tooling the MMCS is the inclusion of aircon controls. Other than that, there's not much else there that we can't already do. If anything, it's climate controls that we want, but as we all know that's stupidly expensive to do, esp given the fact that no LHD cars have ever been equipped with it AFAIK.

I would definitely buy the MMCS if there was some sort of kit for converting my current stock dash. I have been searching for a way to get the parts and make my own with no luck. Info on this system is sparse at best here in the U.S. I realize it would be expensive and difficult to for you to develop and produce, but if you ever get a prototype completed please let us know
Question for anyone:
What is the retail price for the MMCS unit as an option at the dealer or separate parts?? Yen or dollars, doesn't matter. Any info would be helpful...

Retail on the parts, for RHD, is 31,217 Yen after shipping and adjustments.
I have the parts on order (they won't be here until June) to fabricate a prototype to compliment the Orbital Prestige 2-DIN Kit, but I honestly doubt it will make it into production. I think I may have mentioned it before, but given the extraordinary amount of money and time invested into the engineering and tooling for the existing 2-DIN conversion project, I can't possibly imagine how much money and time would be required to produce and release an Orbital MMCS variant onto the market. A built-to-order prototype, on the other hand, may be possible.. but irrationally expensive.
In all seriousness, if Orbital become the company of choice for interior enhancements and the existing 2-DIN conversion kit exceeded 1000 units in sales this year, I would really consider following up with this. In the end it's all up to you, the consumer.. you guys have to kick and scream to your vendors, dealerships, and shops.. telling them about this kit.

Keep your eyes open for a new thread once I have the prototype finished up.

That's great, thanks for the business and congratulations on the new IX.
As for the DDX-8017, you'll be very happy.
