I was thinking about getting the Kenwood DDX-6019 with this kit. I didn't want a screen with so many features like the z1. I just want one with radio, plays dvd, easy to bypass, cd/mp3 player and thats it. Don't need navi/bluetooth/ipod or any of that. What do you guys think of the Kenwood and any other screens you guys would suggest ?

For those of you looking for an interesting good deal on a navigation unit, Crutchfield has a great deal where if you buy a AVIC-D2 for $1250, you get the new AVIC-S1 for free ($600 value). The S1 is a portable navigation unit, kind-of like the TomTom or Garmin units out there. This worked out great for me, because I can give the wife the S1 for her car and keep her out of my business!

I like the Alpine unit, except, does it support navi? I know it supports navi through the Blackbird portable unit, but I heard that was really shoddy...
I've also read many bad things about the Z1.. maybe the new 7" Kenwood is a better pick?

Alpine's navigation software is used by OEM's like Acura so it works pretty well. The blackbird is just an option if you want to be able to use it in multiple cars.
