My Evo X (and 135i) dyno tuning results over time

I have tuned my last 5 cars at Dyno4mance. It uses an uncorrected Dyno Dynamics. Yes, it reads low, but most of you should know that. An Evo IX that makes 300whp on this dyno will trap about 110-111mph. Here are some results:

First off, here's the X stock vs. a boost controller and cat-back vs an EcuTeK tune (ECU boost control) and the cat-back.

Next, I added a downpipe and test pipe.

I have a couple friends that continued on with their X and they did intercooler pipes. Those cars made an extra 10-15whp on top of that. 300whp is about equal to a bolt on IX. Of course, the X holds the power a bit better up top due to the square engine and amount of timing it can safely run. Sadly, this doesn't show at the dragstrip since the X weighs some 300 pounds more than the IX.

And here's the latest stuff on the 135i from the past weekend. Stock is violet at 252whp, the red run is the PROcede only at 308whp, and the black run is the PROcede with dual cone intakes at 330whp. Not too shabby for no exhaust work and all four stock cats in place, huh?

Any idea of the correction factor used on their dyno?

Great numbers, great progression. Nice work.

Its only 14psi.
No 16G psi Evo running 25psi on pump gas will make anywhere near that power or torque.

You mean that small spike in torque and HP i see in a narrow range in the middle before it takes a nose dive?

Punk!

They suck up top, that's for sure! Direct injection systems have a throttle plate that closes at high RPM. Until that is sorted out and bigger turbos are available (and a way to fuel them), these cars will continue to puke-n-die up top.

That's great numbers. It was a tough choice between a 335i and a Evo for me.

Man...this thread makes me want a 135i even more. Those are disgusting numbers for such little modification. Imagine how much more you'd get out of that car with an exhaust - i'd guess at least 360whp. 330+whp, BMW chassis, BMW interior =

I dont think a BMW would be able to hold 29psi of boost either, dual turbo or not. Just different designs.

same here. But ultimately, acceleration and ultimate handling won over ride comfort and premium brand perks for me.
