Based upn my past experience at the Buschur Mustang Dyno I would estimate that 400 whp on his dyno would equal approx 450 - 465 whp on a dyno jet.

Its tough for me to give any trap speed or et estimates as most of our experience is with significantly lighter Evo 8 and IX. Never the less I am confident it would fare very well at the track.

This car will trap 124+ mph the way it sits right now, I am sure of it.

Yes, the cams are installed with the stock springs/retainers.

Id be scared of raising the rev limiter with stock springs/retainers...Man those numbers are nice tho!!

Depending on the difficulty, I might want to try this out. According to the service manual, it says you can remove the cams without pulling off the entire front end. Did you try this out? It says you can unlock the chain tensioner by sticking a small flat tip into the service hole and lifting the ratchet tensioner. After unlocking, you can pry the tensioner away with a pry tool (bar) which will give you enough play in the chain to remove the cams.

BTW, how lucky were you with the valve clearance? How many lifters did you have to replace?

Were the Cosworth cams the M1 or M3?

There are no lifters in the EVOX. I would not short cut the cam install.

Cosworth says these cams are a direct drop in, no spring upgrade required.

Sorry I missed this thread David, Great job, it make me wish this old dog would have got the X. Oh well, I'm used to no extra electronics and radio RS . I'm making some changes after looking at the dyno sheet on the intake manifold, and you should have one to test in the middle of the month along with the fuel rail for the 8. Was this with the air filter shield in place? Thanks again for getting the info out.
