BR EVOX, 400+ whp on pump gas with Cosworth cams
Wow, that's what I think of the difference adding the Cosworth cams to the EVO X. Very good gains.
Just adding the cams, with no retune what-so-ever, the car picked up 30 whp at around 6,000 rpm and 28 ft lbs at peak torque. I knew it was only going to get better after the car was tuned.
As you will see from the below dyno graph before the cams the boost was set at 25.2 psi and after the cams the boost was 24.7 psi. I did not bother to re-adjust the boost or try to run more boost during any of the dyno runs. I wanted to tune the car at a level I can use for any customer.
Here is the dyno sheet of our EVO X with our Stages 1-3 on it, 780 injectors and the Domininator turbo on it VS. the same thing with the new Cosworth cams and tuned. 407 whp and 341 ft lbs of torque on 93 octane!
Here is the dyno sheet of the car with our Stages 1-3 on the car on the stock turbo with stock cams. We've gained 110 whp and 46 ft lbs!

Awesome results! It looks like it was running pretty lean after the cams especially up top. You mentioned in another thread that the X likes to run leaner than the previous evos. What do you consider to be a safe target a/f on the X?

I only dyno'd the car initially today. This afternoon I decided I should go drive it and see what a 407 whp EVO X feels like. Well let me tell you guys, IT'S FLIPPING FAST AS HELL. I am finally in love with the EVO X!! The idle is a little rough, the car is louder with the larger turbo and cams and it pulls HARD all the way to the 7700 rpm redline I have set. It is pulling so hard at 7700 rpm I want to raise the rev limiter even higher. As you can see from the dyno graph it likes to be rev'd. The car, to me, finally feels like an EVOLUTION.
It was a little too refined, soft, comfortable and slow for me all this time. Plaque with a slipping clutch, power I wasn't impressed with etc. I'm so glad I got off my dead *** and got going on the car again.
I have some people to thank. Dan and Steve at our shop for doing the install on the clutch, cams and turbo.
HUGE thanks to Al at Dynoflash for helping me with the tuning.
Thanks to Chad at CBRD too for turning us onto this turbo and some other misc help.
Thanks to Blouch for this turbo that is putting me back in my seat.
Happy New Years guys. The EVOX is going to be something to watch from here out.
