Another X stock tune!

Call gst for a price quote. Very reasonable price, especially when the boost pill comes installed for free when you pay for your sock tune!
If you take the stock pill out you need to replace it with either a manual boost controller, the boost pill, or another option out there. Im sure you cant just uninstall your stock pill. You can either install the pill before your tune(I'm sure most tuners will do this for you), and this is recomended. If you do it yourself without a tune, then don't boost as it's pretty important to tune for this mod.

if you had manual boost controller.. don't you just by pass the bleeder system (stock system) and hook up the boost controller between the turbo and wastegate actuator, like you would for any other system?

no if i understand cobb correctly the pill is already in your stock system, which regulates boost somewhat. with the stage 2 cobb tune, they ask you remove one pill to achieve the new boost pressure. a new pill does not come with the ap. on the matter of the

We have been doing ECU-controlled boost since the Evo 8 (aka for years), using the same pill replacement method. We have found better, more consistent, and higher duty cycle 'resolution' boost control using this method. The COBB method works well to an extent. It's perfect for the staged maps they offer with minimum fuss.
The OP received a fully custom tune.

You can take your car to a Dynojet/Mustang/Dynapak/Dynodynamics/Dynomite and run a stock baseline (stock pill) and then flash it to the GST flash (smaller pill) and run it on the same dyno and your GAINS will be close to what Bryan got on his dyno. The peak numbers will be higher on a dynojet/dynomite, but that does not mean that your gains are any better.

Removing the one of the OEM pills by the solenoid, makes boost inconsistent, IMHO. Some used to do this on the Evo 8/9 and while the boost went up slightly, the boost became inconsistent when you logged it. Mitsu put the pills there for a reason, to smooth out the boost and make it consistent.
The best way to increase boost consistently w/o swapping wastegates is to use a smaller pill on the turbo side. This is the method that Bryan and I have used for a long time.
Here is SoCal, I was the first to start using the pill and I was attacked and pilloried by other tuners who were attached to their MBCs. Bryan recalls the posts on SoCal Evo Fast forward two years and now almost all tuners brag about using the pill method.

Yes, the OEM pill by the solenoid. This ups the boost with the same duty cycle, but to an extent. We keep all pills in and replace the OEM pill on the pressure side with a different pill.

where do you get this new pill that you speak of? and could you use the method you use along with the cobb tuner? If not. I'm going to get a electric boost controller and just bypass the stock boost controller all together. I loved the kick in the *** power the evo 8-9's had vs the stock x with its very linear boosting/power making.
