Hi ETS, just a quick question, with theHTA3586 turbo on the new 4b11 2L, what type of spool are we seeing? when does it hit full boost? would spool up be influence by different type of fuel used?

It's been an exciting run pushing the stock block, we have made well over 100 dyno runs and countless street pulls. The end result on the stock block was 681whp w/ stock bottom end and stock head, stock cams etc.

We have some bad and good news to report!

Lets get the bad news out of the way... The stock rod bolts have let go and destroyed the motor. I highly recommend anyone pushing the stock block to upgrade the rod bolts. This problem was common in the 8/9 and looks like the X as well.

ARP Rod Bolts - Evolution X ARP Rod Bolts

Now it's time for the good news

The new motor arrived yesterday along with several parts from Cosworth, GSC and Ferrea. The new build will consist of the following parts.

Cosworth 9.0:1 Pistons
Cosworth Rings
Cosworth Rods
Cosworth Head Gasket 1.1mm
Cosworth Main and Rod Bearings
ARP Head Studs
GSC S2 Camshafts
Ferrea Valves
Ferrea Dual Valve Springs and Retainers
Stock Crank

The new motor should be up and running this weekend! Hopefully we will see the track tomorrow, but.. that will depend on the weather. Gotta love the NW!

Again.. we would like to say thanks to all of our sponsors!

English Racing - Stock ECU High Boost Tuning
GarageGT - Garage GT AEM Plug and Play ECU
Forced Performance - HTA3586 (681whp)

Thanks!

Michael

Can NOT wait to get my HTA 3582 on there with your manifold! Red was great but time to go bigger. I am going with BC stage 2 cams as this is a street daily driver.

Mikey -

The rod bolts let go over time. It wasn't at a certain RPM it was due to the amount of abuse we put this car through. The car made over 100 dyno pulls and countless street pulls along with a few AWD burn outs. The 4B11 is a very strong motor, upgraded ARP rod bolts would have prevented this problem.

If you plan on pushing the stock motor, get some rod bolts 700whp is not out of the question on a stock block, but it's time to build the block and make some serious power! We have 2 weekends left of racing before the tracks are closed for the winter. This week shows rain and more rain..

Lets hope for some clear weather though! I want to get this car to the track before the season is over.

Thanks,

Michael

Good Job ETS. Maybe I should skip the Supra idea and go with a new X.

Question RPMs?

Could you please tell us about what RPM's, all of these 100's of Dyno Pulls and countless Street Pulls, were made at, even if the reason for the rod bolt failure was due to the high levels of Abuse and Torque that the Stock Motor was being put thru during these tests.

Thank You - Bob
