^^Just to make it 100% clear, scheides isn't sponsored.

Side note: I think it would be sweet if someone from a totally independent facility (If there is such a thing with the soap opera type drama on these national sites) tested both these manifolds vs. a stocker some day. It would almost have to be at a shop that does not even specialize in Evo's though, just to get clear data that no one could ***** about anyone "playing favorites towards one side or the other.

So true, would almost make a trip out to Beyond Redline in WI, or Excessive in Sioux Falls, SD worth the trip. Though I'm sure someone would still be unhappy with the results haha

What would be the difference between the FiD and stock ported? and what about spool differences?

Spool will likely suffer slightly, top-end will improve nice and progressively (more and more as rpms go up). Here's a comparo done on an evo IX, to give you an idea:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...-manifold.html

Weigh that against the gains I saw vs an unported stocker with the MAP manifold:
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...ting-evox.html

Just remember the ~15% variance between dynos when you look at these though, dynojet reads a little higher. You should see significant gains going from a ported stocker to either of these manifolds!

Gentlemen, I have restored this thread to where the original data from the scheides is present as intended.

From everything I can see, both manifolds are very fine pieces. I don't want to edit tech, but keeping the same tune on both manifolds was the spirit of the main post, so the thread has been restored to reflect those variables.

I'm not pointing fingers at either side, but if I allow rampant speculation and comparison that pits vendors against each other in a hostile manner, everyone loses.

Let's keep this one on topic, please.

great test scheides. i feel for ya on the family/wife thing. if murlo is unable to find the time to do the retest, i might be able to convince 3dman1 to do it at english racing on this fp red 2.3L.

Rev 2 and 3 porting from MAP is the intake mani not the exhaust. The ported stocker (exhaust) is just one type of porting.
