I was recently able to tune Dr. Paul Seto's Evo X MR in preperation for entering our cars in the 2011 One Lap of America event. I'm happy to report that they ended up finishing 3rd in class and 19th overall with the MR transmission holding in strong!

This is the same turbo that powered my car to 400+ whp on the STM Mustang dyno at 28 psi. We ended making 360 whp at 26 psi and turned it down to 24 psi for the road courses which still yielded a safe 340 whp.
Originally I intended to use ECU based boost control but as the car heated up on the dyno, the boost kept slowly dropping off and it tapered as much as 4 psi. We ended up grabbing a Hallman boost controller off STM's shelf and 10 minutes later we were at 26 psi with maybe a 1 psi taper on the top end and 20 psi spool by 3700 in the shorter MR 4th gear.
This really made the car wake up and I was able to control the power delivery at peak torque through other means in order to keep the tranny together. They ended up bogging the launch at the drag strip during the One Lap event, but TPS limits were still in place for safety. The good news is that the trap speeds were close to 110 mph and without the limits in place the car really scoots of the line if you build enough boost.

Plans are underway to get GTX30 wheels into the turbo setup assuming we can get some stronger clutch packs installed as well.
