Before and after (MAP short-runner exhaust manifold & MAP Turbosmart WGA):

There is a noticable increase in the mid-range, that's where I'm really feeling it. Plus, the turbo seems much more responsive with this new WGA which makes sense since the WG was able to be properly tensioned, I wasn't able to run any pre-tension with the original 25psi WGA. Although spool does appear a touch slower, torque picks up a little bit quicker.

Tephra mods have also been enabled via the Accessport! 93 and 91-octane on-the-fly map-switching and the knock CEL is setup at 3 counts (slow) and 5 counts (fast), but I've yet to see a single flash even with two pulls to 140+ so far

I was just out ripping around some more and this car is seriously the ultimate DD street car! Handling is spot on, it rips through the gears, reliability has been decent, and it drives smooth as stock.

You are lucky. I have a cylinder # 4 go soft with 20% leakage into the crankcase at about the same power level.

So far so good [knock on wood]...the engine is still very strong at 39k miles! Right now by biggest concern is the stock clutch.

My ef2 build is still going strong as well, I have the Turbosmart WGA but still on the stock mani.

I do a couple pulls a day to and from work and I have to agree my car as it sits is amazing for DD. I'm going to start auto crossing but need to get a lower boost tune as spiking 29lbs probably wouldnt be too good for small auto x tracks. Everyone says im going to Need to get some new pads and brake lines.

I'm still on stock clutch and I don't even feel any slip yet, 32k miles.

What did you go with for the wg actuator? i have the ef2 with the short runner and am loving it as my dd too! What was the reasoning for switching actuators? Glad to see the short runner helped! It was a last minute add on for me because i got a deal i couldnt pass up from nate and Map!

There is no reason to upgrade the stock brake lines, they're good as-in. With 32k miles you're probably getting due for pads though, be sure to check the pad thickness and replaced if necessary before too much longer.

I have MAP's new billet Turbosmart 18psi WGA, which replaced the original MAP 25psi WGA. My tuner recommended the switch so I spoke with MAP about getting one into my hands before my retune. It really all depends on your setup; if you're running E85 or race gas them the 25psi WGA is a good choice, but it does seem to be a bit too stiff for some pump gas EF2 cars.

Sorry to bring this up being it is kinda old, but Chris told me its pretty much the same as the 25psi wg that comes with what I have already so no need to upgrade to it. So if anyone has the revised 25psi spring no need to upgrade tot he turbosmart one.
