You said it!

This finally solidifies my decision. I will be going with this turbo for sure.

Thanks again Kris it is perfect. So glad I dropped down in size, I am in love again all over with my car.

Here is the price break down.

Manifold/downpipe/dumptube $1816 http://www.shearerfab.com/products.php?itemid=186

Shearer UICP ~ $100

Turbo ~ $1400

Wastegate ~ $325

Misc parts (oil lines, fittings etc) ~ $100

Total ~$3700 which is a $500 -$1000 savings over some other kits

I have had this setup for over 1 year no issues no cracks no rust no nothing. Ron does great work and is great to deal with.

I reused my ets intake and I could have re use my ets uicp but I would have had to have done a trial and error with a bunch of silicone coupler to go from turbo to pipe so I just broke down and got Shearer pipe.

not bad at all! I was looking at this thinking it maybe on par with MAP pricing but looks like it still comes in alittle cheaper

how come all the t3 manifolds out there have such long runners? I'd want a short runner manifold for better spool

I have yet to see the results from one. I also want a shorter manifold, that's why I was very interested in that E-Spec Stage 1 kit where you can reuse the stocker...but that seems to have dropped off the planet?

However, if you know someone who can fab up a downpipe, I have a good feeling I know the other parts involved

also, here is a quick and crude overlay I did in photoshop showing spool differences between my car (full bolt-ons, clipse tune), an fp red (clipse tune w/ bolt ons), and this shearer kit pte 5857 cea

mine obviously spools the fastest and tapers like a stock turbo *****, FP red in the middle, 5857 last.

Hmmm, looking at this it almost seems like the 5857 spools faster than my 2.2L EF4 but I don't have any runs where I start at 3k that I can see so I can't tell really.

Good spool though.

damn really? it was 93oct too, if this was ran on E85 it would probably spool even faster

Well, I was started my runs at 4k for my VD runs. If I did 2700-3000 rpms it would probably be pretty quick.

On the dyno when I start down low it was faster. It hit 25psi at 4000 on the dyno. So I would expect it to be close to that on the street if I start low enough.

Also Clipse has looked at my mivec and thinks I can spool quite a bit faster, so we will see come spring time.

ahh yea, if he adjusted your mivec that would make a big diff too.

your afr curve needs fixed unless you want to be running 13 afr's at 24psi.. thats not very safe with that much positive pressure.

Our website pricing isn't set in stone you know Turbocharger looks to perform great though, can't wait to see what Clipse can do spool wise with our EF series!
