MAP EF4 Turbo 436whp/360wtq 93 octane MUSTANG DYNO

2008 Evo X GSR

Stock head/block (customer plans to build this engine very soon)

MAPerformance EF4 Turbo with 25psi actuator (NO PORTING)

GSC S1 cams

93 Octane Pump Gas

Exedy Twin Disc Clutch
Buschur Racing FMIC and piping
3" Short Ram Intake
Stock Crushed BOV
FIC 900cc injectors
Walbro 255LPH high pressure fuel pump
Tubular Manifold (unsure on brand, looks like Megan or Invidia quality)
Megan O2 Housing
3" TBE with test pipe
Hallman Pro MBC (his GM 3-port died while on the dyno and we were out of Grimmspeeds)

Tuned By our in-house tuner and co-owner, Jamie (aka: Jack_of_Trades)

The customer will be returning for FIC 2150cc injectors, Buschur Racing double pumper, grimmspeed BCS and a tune for E-85.

We are very impressed with the results of this turbo so far with moderate upgrades on the X. The only issue we ran into was a boost spike that would not cooperate with the MBC but we didn't have much of a choice until he returns for his grimmspeed install and E-85 tune.

Below is a 3rd gear pull and the last graph is a 4th gear pull so you can see the different torque curves. In 3rd gear, we achieved 28psi as early as 4000rpm!

On Mustang Dyno:

3rd gear
33psi tapering to 27.5psi
uncorrected: 455whp/374wtq

corrected: 436whp/360wtq

A dynojet typically reads 13% HIGHER than our Mustang dyno, which can roughly be seen in the VD graph when you compare our mustang dyno's uncorrected results with the VD's uncorrected results. The VD pull was done immediately after it came off the dyno on a stretch of very flat road in front of our facility at the same elevation. We realized later that the customer had nearly 70lbs of stereo equipment in the trunk as well but this gives you a good idea anyways.

Virtual Dyno (uncorrected): 515whp/414wtq

We also tried 29psi up top and the car allowed even more timing past 6500rpm (the mid-range was very knock limited and can be seen in the power graph where we had to keep ignition timing at bay). Unfortuantely, 29psi maxed out the injectors and the MAF volts completely but it shows what can be possible with more fuel.

4th gear
33psi tapering to 29psi
uncorrected: 474whp/400wtq

corrected: 455whp/384wtq

I would love to see this turbo fully ported on a built longblock, GSC S2 cams and E-85 on our dyno. I think there is a lot left on the table.

Awesome it will haul some serious ***. You have enough injector to support around 515whp (mustang)/580whp (dynojet) on pump. Hopefully your fuel pump can keep up. Definitely use a 3.5" or larger intake too or the MAF will max out. Can't wait to see your results!

I approve of this setup

The EF4 is a great turbo. I can't wait to turn it up this spring myself.

Seems to be a solid pump gas turbo too.

I thought the same thing at first, then I looked closely at the VD vs MD. On the MD shows peak torque at ~5600, where as on VD shows peak torque at ~4800. 300ft/lbs @ 3800 shooting up to 400 ft/lbs @4400; sounds like fun!

We just hope these rods can handle that

Once he gives us the okay to build this motor we can really see what this turbo has. There seems to be plenty more left in it!
