Patrick's 2011 GSR 516whp 5858 92 octane

Patrick first got the X bug with his 2012 MR. When it failed to make "average" power he decided to trade it in and get a 2011 GSR and build that. Initially the car was mild mods so we wouldnt have to remove parts later in the upgrade path. After discussing it thoroughly with Patrick, and seeing the results of other cars, he decided on a V-band 5858 kit for his car.

Mods-

ETS 5858 Precision V-band turbo kit with 0.82 A/r housing
ETS 4" intake pipe kit
ETS 3.5" FMIC kit
Fuel injector Clinic 900cc injectors
ER double pumper kit
ER Test pipe cutout
ER SD tune
Grimspeed 3 port BCS
Stock port head/cams

This is a combo that I have done a few times before, so the first pull on WG line was pretty dialed and only required a little change to the AFR to get it 100%

Not bad for 19psi, but of course we werent going to leave it there and dialed it up a bit more. Next was 24psi tapering to 22psi as I didnt have the 3 port 100% but never the less it delivered 464whp.

Last but not least was 27psi falling to 25psi (which was intentional) and this yielded very good gains yet again. Interestingly when this is compared to a stock port head with the Cosworth MX1 there is only 15-20whp being left on the table peak. The Cosworths do hand over more spool which makes more torque down low.

27psi -

For giggles, here is the comparo between stock cams and the MX1 cams in another ETS 5858 equipped car-

The boost is similar in the early range but does start to taper out the top on the cammed motor so there is more in the Cosworths I am sure. The other car I could have compared it to had a ported head but same boost profile and TMPs. It definitely had gains but its hard to say how much of each it was. When the stock port head car comes back I will get a more accurate comparison. In the meantime I am sure Patrick will enjoy his new found power.

Very nice numbers, what are the end goals for the car, will it just be a DD/ street car?

The load on the engine is what makes a 5th gear pull unsafe. If u are going through the gears it's ok to rev 5th gear out. The problem most people run into is cruising in 5th then all of a sudden flooring it and putting more of a load than 5th can handle

Yes it is actually. If you look where peak torque happens its at 6500 or so as I deliberately keep timing and boost lower up to that point. The peak number is far less important as where that peak number occurs. That all being said the 400 ft lb rule on stock motors that I came up with was for the 4G63 and was carried over to the 4B11. The actual number for the 4B11 is far higher.

In fact after having talked to Kiggly about this, he did some quick math and figured out if a rod had a 400 ft lb limit at 3500 the same rod would be good to 455 ft lbs around 7000.

As always, great work guys! I have the same set up, but have yet to put on because of worry of having stock internals, although now I feel a bit more comfortable after seeing this thread. As far as fuel, I have yet to buy injectors and fuel pump. Do you guys recommended the same set up or would you have done it differently? I know is usually better to get bigger injectors and scale down rather than running out of fuel, but what would be a good size and cost effective (meaning not spending for injectors that would only be useful if the car had a built motor with a turbo twice the size, which unfortunately I don't foresee doing anytime soon). The same for fuel pump, what would guys recommend? Thanks in advance!

900s and a double pumper setup is more than enough for a stock motor on gasoline

We dont happen to sell it as a kit, I will see if we can make that happen though.
