I was tinkering around in my X and spotted the extra harness up on top for the Bluetooth microphone. I havent had a chance to explore more but will do so this weekend.

I purchased the lancer bluetooth kit to see if i could get it to work.

The kit came with the module, and the microphone.. thats it. I confirmed the microphone is straight plug and play. I also know that once installed, the DEALER has to use the MUT-III to program the car to accept the bluetooth...

Only thing missing was the steering wheel control switch, which i special ordered... (arrives tomorrow)

Ill post pics of the install and update on whether it functions or not...

Im going to be installing the NAV at the same time, so look out for how-tos on all this once im done....

Keep in mind that everything you install like the nav or the bluetooth (if it works) will require a visit to the DEALER once youre done so they can program the car with their MUT-III scan tool so that it will recognize the new devices....

Stay Tuned... Its going to be an interesting weekend!

it must not have worked or he is having trouble. I am thinking that we are going to have to wait for the MR to come out because I have a feeling that the steering wheels controls are not going to work because the lancer sterring wheel is diffrent from the evo

Good lord, some patience and some faith PLEASE!

Sorry guys, got all the hardware installed on Saturday (took the entire day), and spent Sunday at the Southcoast Mitsubishi EVO meet with the wife!

what a crazy weekend! So the great news is that the GSR X is DEFINITELY pre-wired for bluetooth.

I got the mic in (to factory harness)
I got the module in (to factory harness)

and

I got the steering wheel switch plugged in (to factory harness!!!)

So heres where things are at:

I need to get the car connected to a mut-III to get the bluetooth activated on the can-bus. I cant do this unless i pay the dealership a visit, so Ill be doing that sometime during the week.. I also have a strong suspicion that I may also need the steering wheel "audio" control switch in order for the bluetooth interface to work. So far so good and things are looking EXTREMELY promising... hang in there... I should have this figured out by next weekend...

PS: In case you're wondering whats taking so long, I was also installing my nav unit, my reverse camera, and my JDM blinker side mirrors at the same time...
