Lookin good antics! You have pics of the conrol switch mounted? I hope this will work with no NAV. thats what i'm hoping for anyway. Where does the mic mount?

 

Yes, i took pics but i have to get them off the camera tonight when i get home.... It SHOULD work without nav, but I have yet to test since i need to plan a trip to the dealer so they can activate the feature....

 

Got it through the dealer... I have the part number at home. Ill update you and through a how-to when/if i can get everything to work.

Do you have pics of where the mic mounts?

 

If I was a betting man I would think the mic is in the map light cluster. There is a perforated section in between both lights. Most OEMs place the mic there.

 

Thanks for bringing that up coz I also want to know if it was available for the GSR. My brother-in-law just bought a lancer GTS. His car came with the Nav and bluetooth.

I know the bluetooth is standard for the EVO X MR, but I don't think it would be available for the GSR. The Nav option is only available for the GSR, but with no bluetooth.

 

You can buy the bluetooth kit thats used on the outlander and the base lancer. You can then install this kit into your GSR without any issues. Then you will need your dealer to use their MUT-III programmer to enable the feature on your car. Once thats done, you will need to get the hands free steering wheel mount. Without it, you cant synch your phone, or anything like that. Once you have that, you are done, because I havent figured out how to enable the thing yet.

Though the wiring harnesses exist, the current issue, from my schematics tracing, is the soft switch in the S-AWC ECU is currently set to run the S-AWC selector switch from the steering wheel. This needs to be changed to radio/hfk setting somehow.

 

That would be a winning bet. That is where it is in the GTS.

 

You can read up on a camera install on a 08 Lancer here. It should be fairly close if not the same as an install on a X.
