Sounds bad
I changed the hear unit to a VGA touchscreen with a built in amplifier 4x100.
Now the speakers sound like crap and i am wondering if there is too much or not enough power.....the volume adustment isn't smooth and it pops up and down at different levels....i think there is something off.....
i hear there might be a preamp of some sort on the oem i might have to bypass but i have a GSR which came with the basic sound system.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

If there is alot of cracking and distortion but only at the higher volumes then you need more power. Does it sound good at low volumes? If not, prolly the preamp. GL

So i have to run an amp to all the speakers? how the heck do you do that without rewiring to each speaker?

is only pushing maybe 25 watt rmsx4 channel 100x4 max and more then likey this is rated at a 4ohm load.
what is happening is your aftermarket head unit is pulling a 2 ohm load
pushing out 200wattx4 max at 2ohm and it can't handle this.
1. You should get new aftermarket 6.5" components or coax speaker.
most aftermarket speaker are rated at 4 ohm.
2. If you want to keep the oem speaker get an aftermarket AMP to run them.
Most aftermarket amp will handle 2 ohm load
