I had an 08 Lancer GTS with the Rockford Fosgate system in it before I purchased my Evo. If you're not going to upgrade the audio system then the SSS package is the way to go. It has a good crisp sound with descent bass but, as some have said, it's not very loud. I chose not to equip my Evo with the SSS because I plan on putting a much better system in it. The one thing I do miss is the Nav. Unit. The MMCS is very easy to use, has a large display screen, internal hard-drive, and a plethora of other features that made it hard to give up.

Hmmm, that's wierd. I have an E39 M5 with I think it was the HK system (it has the "M-audio" package with 2 thin 10" woofers under the rear deck), and it sounds MUCH better than the SSS system in my evo. Bass is deeper and treble seems more crisp too.
I mostly listen to sirius in the evo, which does have poor sound quality. But then again, I mostly listen to my ipod through a cassette aptr in the M5.
I guess everyone has thier own opinion. That's why I'm putting aftermarket stuff in soon.

I have the Rockford Fosgate with the mitsu navi. The cleanness of the speakers are good but it doesn't get loud. so i took out the stock amp and put in a different 5 ch amp with the audiocontrol lc7 and now its loud and clean. i would say just do that. it wont cost you as much as a full aftermarket setup. I also like that idea of getting a single din and on top of that having the 3 gauges.
