Voice recognition freeware?

Anyone using a voice recognition freeware to simulate key strokes for gaming, or whatever?
Doing a goggle search yields some, but I can not find any suitable reviews...
I would like to incorporate this into an interface I am going to use for my Evo X carputer. The program I am using allows me to assign key sequence or hotkeys to items on the interface, and having a voice recognition program to work these would be nice.

What interface/frontend are you using? Some already have this feature.

I am working on that now in mine, but I am having an issue finding a small good quality mic with noise canceling. I have a small one right now that isn't noise canceling and it is crap.

I am actually making mine from scratch using an industrial automation SCADA package called CitectSCADA. It is designed for running oil refineries, water treatment plants, etc. So while it is not designed for making a car interface, it is really easy for me to use it in that application.

I actually found a voice activation package for key commands called VAC system. I am using a trial but it is simple to use and is already working well.

Using Citect, I already have it working to open programs (such as ECUFlash, RealPlayer, etc) using voice commands. I can also do the same thing by creating on screen push buttons or selectors, etc.
