over here our x's have the r/fos dvd/nav system fitted. my question is the version sold in the us the same? and if so have you guys been able to remove the video in motion so the unit will play the dvd while driving.

Good question but most likely I would think it's not going to happen with how integrated the system is with he rest of the car. I don't know though.
