aux-in poor quality/noise?
Hey guys,
Didnt find it in search, but does anyones aux-in produce poor quality sound and/or noise when nothing is attached?
Sounds like a poor grounding issue.
Thanks

Haven't tried mine yet, but if the head-unit source is selected as AUX, I would think that noise would be normal if the end that's not plugged-in touches anything.
An easy solution would be to either A) switch the source to radio or CD, or B) turn the volume down or power off. Or are you getting noise when other sources are selected as well??

nope, only noise when selecting Aux. After a bit more of searching, I found ipod/iphone users that charge when playing often get the same issue. They recommended either finding another ground or trying a ground loop isolator. Maybe that is the answer!
Thanks for the reply!

If we are talking about the aux in connection in the center console L/R, just so i'm on the same page here, then I do think that the quality sucks. Compared with other cars that i've been in, when I plug my iPhone(3GS if it matters) to the inputs, the quality is about similar to the XM/Sirius' quality...which IMO isn't good at all. Probably a small step up from FM and a big step below CD.

Yeah I get the buzz that is linked to RPMs and that clicking when it's disconnected,
AND I'll one up you, I've noticed when listening to audio books (I have to turn the volume up louder) that there is actually another signal getting picked up...
I can music faintly playing underneath the iPod book, and when I pause it the music is still there...
So RPM noise when playing, clicking when disconnected, and then foreign signals playing in the AUX channel...

Wow... I just have a ghetto rca to stereo plug cable that is .5 meter, and I've used it in my 09 Lancer GTS and now use it on my Evo. I've never heard buzzing or had any issues with quality being as bad is Sirius is.
