GPS recommendation
Can someone recommend a good nav system for the evo? i want an HDD if possible to store mp3s/divx/xvid, able to play both CD and DVDs burned with mp3s, and DVD video or divx/xvid video. I also want bluetooth. i'd like the GPS to show a 3D view instead of the top down bird's eye view + say the road names.

I think you'll be hard pressed to find an off-the-shelf unit that will play DIVX/XVID files.
As for 3D GPS, the Kenwood line of Double Din players, such as the Kenwood DNX5120 and assorted models, all will do 3D GPS, and will play back MPEG1/MPEG2 files; getting coded support for XVID and DIVX is going to be tricky though.
The better plan, in my mind, is to get something that supports iPod/iPhone in, and play the movie on the iPod/iPhone, and output it on the head unit; you won't be stuck with having to screw with codec support on a non-upgradeable head unit.

I just got a Z110BT which does everything you mentioned. I picked it up from six ave electronics for $999 on sale, and at the time it had a $200 rebate for it since the new model z120bt is coming out soon. The 920BT is very nice and will do all the same things as the z110bt. If you happen to find a deal on a z110bt you can upgrade the software later from pioneer for around $100 to the newer models. I absolutely LOVE this dash, it does everything and the nav is much improved over the previous Z models. It has ipod, SD card which reads everything, super clear screen and very easy motion bypass for video.

I have a Clarion MAX685BT which you can find for around 600 these days (paid close to 2k 3 years ago). If you want the nav you'll have to get NAX980HD (40G HD preloaded with all your maps). It has a USB and Ipod interface, plays divx, dvds, mp3 and you can get the 3d map view. It also lets you do a split screen of 2d and 3d which is kinda cool. check it out.

If you search some of the threads in audio I started you can see some installs and pics.
