Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD + iPhone GPS (pretty awesome - check it out)

MotionX-GPS Drive

The scosche kit really impressed me, it was only 30$ on ebay. It came with a harness too!!
The pioneer 4200DVD does not have blue tooth but the 3200BT does. I was debating on returning this for the 3200BT but i couldn't live with the idea of having my ipod cable running in front of the dash. The 4200 fixes that and has the usb at the back, plus it has a bigger screen. I just finished installing my braking switch for movies.

I found an amazing 1$ app call motionx drive. It can be used to upload the map into my pioneer head unit. It works great and its mind boggling for only 1$
MotionX-GPS Drive
I was so close to buying a 300$ add on navi, luckily motionx has a great app I can use with my iphone. i had only 3 days to use it and so far no complaints yet.

Compatible devices include:

* Pioneer AVH-P3300BT
* Pioneer AVH-P4300DVD
* Pioneer AVH-P6300BT
* Pioneer SmartCradle
* JVC KW-AVX640
* JVC KW-AVX740
* JVC KW-ADV794
* JVC KW-AVX840

I'm not understanding you question, but if you are speaking about the impact it causes having the iPhone constantly charged 24/7 will reduce the life of any battery for sure.

But i usually drain my battery twice a week anyway. She's in good shape and honeslty... who keeps smart phones for more than 1 or 2 years. By the time the battery is dead, it would have gone to the 3rd or 4th owner

Nope you're understanding it,

Normally you're supposed to drain completely (almost) before recharging... I ran into that problem with one of my current iPods w/ my old Pioneer deck...

It now serves as my docked iPod (car and room) and my other goes mobile...

Yep I know where everything is ...I said that!? :facepalm:

Google maps works awesome on the iPhone, and so does this app. But in the video, the iPhone works as an external controller and there looked like a ton of buttons in that mode. Point being, other than being parked or stopped before you search the locale, looks like a huge distraction.

Regardless, if you're already rocking the Pioneer, this could be a cool extension.

i don't see how a person can find this so distracting. If you can scratch your ***** while you drive you can use this app.

its pretty simple and its no more distracting than using an ordinary head unit.

Quick question...can this receiver take an HDMI input from say a Droid Phone so I can display droids navigation on the screen?
