I like the idea of an ipad in dash, i just don't like the way that you implemented it. I appreciate your idea, but it doesn't flow well. Just looks like you built a shelf for an ipad, no integrated it.

it's only a year late lol but my setup is almost ready. After some trial and error last year, I finally had my buddy who does car audio do a one off molding of a vehicle dock into a dash kit so i get to keep my number one rule of it being removeable yet secure.

I just need to sand the thing and choose a paint to go with then I'll post up pics (btw I've still been using your harness this whole time just plugging my phone in instead, still a great job).

Hey I just saw this thread. I have a iPad Mini in my dash. Heres a picture I think the mini fits perfectly. I got mine done at Soundman Car Audio. Also the build video that they posted is on their channel if anyones interested. You just have to search for soundman car audio lancer gts.

Heres the volume knob

^ very nice, very clean, and rightfully so given the professional fabrication and installation. Must have been pricey (but worth it). And i personally hate Apple, but the ipad mini is a much better choice over the full sized iPad for a dash/interior of the Lancer/Evo size. I saw the soundman installation of the iPad in the pickup truck and it seemed a much better fit given the larger vehicle.

Mine won't look as clean as yours, but it'll definitely suit my needs adequately.

No worries as long as your happy with how you make yours thats all that matters. Post up a picture when its finished would be great to see how it turns out.

Not too sure, its not glossy though. Looks flat black it blends in with the rest of the dash.

Hey sorry for the late response. Soundman Car Audio did the work for a little more than $1,000.
