$199 through navigation.com

I just updated my '11 RA with the latest MMCS maps/software. Mine shows different version numbers though. Any idea what exactly they represent? I briefly saw the last seconds of the update process where it was updating screen data, etc.

SW Version: N
MAP Version: 2013-A

Navi Sub Microcomputer: 01.09.00 000004
Audio Microcomputer: 91.51.05 915105

Application: 00.80.02
Map Data: M190 ANA_07_201301A
Monitor: 00.83.00

SW Version: N and 00.80.02 are version of actual MMCS (inculding navigation itself). That's the latest version available.

Navi Sub and Audio Microcomputer versions are not affected by this update.

BTW have you noticed the map data is actually from Q3 2012? Check small print on DVD disk.
Just curious, is selling 2012 maps in December, 2013 as 2013 maps a false advertisement?

My DVD says "Made in USA - July 2013". I believe the Gracenote database is from 2012 since those get released in November, which would've been after the DVD was released so they included 2012 version.

Do you know if the routing/guidance is improved at all? My MMCS was making some very weird routing decisions which is why I wanted to get this update and it seems like the few routes I tried out earlier today were different then before. The settings were still the same regarding freeways, tolls, etc.

Is yours the same? Look at the version below Mitsu logo.

As for routing - I've experienced big improvement when upgrading from SW version E to K, even on old 2006Q3 maps I bougt my MMCS with.
Try playing with fast-easy-etc modes, some of them are less awkward than others.

Yup, same DVD. It refers to the Gracenote database.

Ver.xxxx-4525 Until Nov 2012 <-- from the Mitsubishi Gracenote Database download page. The maps appear to be NAVTEQ July 2013.

I feel a bit less cheated now, thanks!

But anyway, POI list is a joke (at least here in Toronto area). Businesses existing for at least dozens of years are not found in POI list. Much better than in 2006 maps but still nothing compare to Google Maps.

Exclamation

Hey everyone,

I have a question for those updating their maps through the website mentioned above or through the dealer (I presume they're the same software disc?). I am currently experiencing an issue with my MMCS on my 2009 Lancer, where the menu bar on the top of the screen (where input mode, volume, etc) appears, will flash in and out. For example, when navigation is up, and I am listening to aux, the menu bar will pop up and say AUX then disappear even if I haven't changed the volume or input method, then appear again intermittently. I'm not sure how to solve the problem, but I'm presuming a software update will do the trick (if you guys have any ideas though, let me know!).

So, my question is, are these map updates also firmware updates for the MMCS? Or would I have to go to the dealer for a firmware update. To my knowledge, the only thing I have updated is the Gracenote CDDB once. I

Thanks!

(If this needs to go into a new thread, just let me know and I'll delete it and post it in a new thread).

I was able to get the update disc through Don Herring Mitsubishi for ~$175. They are an EvoM sponsor and can be contacted by PMing DonMitsu.

I paid $223 after taxes/shipping through navigation.com. Contacted two vendors on here and a local dealer, none were very interested in getting my money so I went straight to the source.
