The mail in flashes is great for people that do have tuner in the local area. Thats why that program works. But if you are close to some one like AMS, BR, Vivid racing, ect then duh go there lol.

1 - The tunes are set up for the Buschur Parts on the Buschur dyno and then tested all over the country on varying fuel and climatic conditions. The tunes work very well with the Buschur Racing Staged packages and have proven to have a excelent record of reliability in service.
2 - When you upgrade there is a upgraded Buschur Flash available at a discounted rate.
3 - The turn around is the same day the ecu is recieved it is flashed and sent back via priority fed ex. Generally for example, if you sent it in by fed ex at 7:00p.m. on Monday PM you will have it back in your hands first thing Wed a.m. at 9:00 a.m. This means you are without your ecu for way less than 48 hours total.
4 - This program is very good for many people all over the country who do not have Evo tuner specalists in their area. Many people live no where near an AWD dyno or near anyone qualified to properly tune a Evo. For these people there is no other choice other then flying someone in.
5 - Cost - when bundled with the Buschur parts staged packages the cost of the Buschur Flash is very reasonable and presents a cost effective and easy way to get your car dialed in and running great.

The acess port is a great option -= but if for example you had waited in 2003 when the Evo 8 first came out - tou would have waited 4 years till the product arrived.
The Buschur Flash is already a completed package and ready to impliment today.
The end user must balance the 48 hour down time vs having a present, cost effective and high quality tuning solution designed to work with the Buschur Parts.

I don't understand why anyone would have a problem with this. If this is similar (or the same) as what was done with the Evo IX (Warrtalon package, etc) then I personally think its a good idea.
I don't live near an Evo tuner, or any tuner i would trust with my Evo. I had the Buschur Warrtalon package and it was a pretty smooth transaction. The only real problems I had was the for some reason my 2-step was flashed away and my TBE didn't include the race pipe. And when I called Buschur they didn't feel like refunding me the cost of a test pipe so they sent me a new one. I had already had one fabbed up so basically I had an extra race pipe sitting in my garage forever.
Otherwise I had a good experience and would recommend mail in flashes.
