New Evo owner + ECUTek

Hey guys, I am both a "soon to be" Evo X owner as well as new to the forums. I have heard good things about doing an ECU reflash on a stock trim giving out approx. a 60-70hp gain as well as torque gain.

Anyone can give help me as far as cost, gain (what you have personally gained), and should I consider additional mods before/after the tuning?

Thanks

ps. I was considering basic mods such as downpipe, exhaust, BOV, and air intake.

HFC + Catback then tune.

find a GOOD local tuner and go with them.

otherwise someone like Mellon Tuning can do a VERY good job over the interwebs

here's a good example of what to expect from Mellon Tuning https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...d-results.html ...it's a work in progress so there's more to come once we get the exhaust installed and retuned. check out www.mellontuning.com to get up to speed on how the process works and what equipment you'd need to get started

^^I am curious, do you require a guy in Canada to run a wideband before you tune their car or do you tune it using the narrowband voltage readings?

You can also check out the Dyno results thread, which has many of the forum members' HP/TQ gains, who tuned them, along with what parts they had installed at the time.

Yes, he'll need to get a WB02 that works with evoscan (lc-1 preferably) to make sure the tune is dead on. The equipment list is on my website www.mellontuning.com

Can I ask why you prefer the LC-1?

because it works well with evoscan and it's very fast so I can detect misfires in the logged data.
