I have used a programmer from a late model mustang. It will read the codes fine.

I had to buy a copy of ScanXL last night because I could not get PCMSCAN to work with an OP2 cable. It was an expensive way to go (since I'd already paid for Evoscan) but that's the current state of things.

EvoScan will support DTC codes shortly on the EFI and SST EVOX ecus. I'm working on it this week. In the meantime heres an update on some other EvoX things.

12th September 2009: EvoScan v2.7 beta3 released, download here.
- EvoX CAN OBDII support added.
- EvoX MapTracer support added.
- Misc performance improvements.

What do the new additions do?

Also, I can't get mine to work. I have the 2.6 and I click download and it won't work. I'm not a big computer guru though. Also, why are there so many ****ing internet files when I download all this crap?

Thanks! I'm having an issue though, running my mode23 enabled ROM with this version (I never tried it with 2.6). It works when I select EVOX from the ECU drop down, but not when I select mode23 2008 EVOX. If this is just me, we can take this offline. I'm a noob w/ this stuff.

You have a very fine product for the price! I had originally bought it for logging and not DTC, so I wasn't particularly dissapointed when I discovered that I didn't have a tool to pull codes.

I haven't explored all of the features of ScanXL yet to see what EvoScan can do that it cannot, but there are a lot in there.

Still not working. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

ScanXL is $125, its too expensive for me, for just a few logging features, I think it is just plain old Generic OBDII CAN, which I know EvoScan can already do. What other ecus apart from EFI can it do datalogging with the EvoX. Can it read and clear DTCs on your EvoX? have you tried it? Because I tried a generic Read/Clear DTC tool on the EvoX and it didn't work. I think it needs a special MUTIII command for reading and clearing DTCs.

I'm not sure about ScanXL, but I know PCMSCAN can read and clear codes on the X. I ended up buying it (found a coupon so it wasn't too bad, and needed something that'd work with a few other makes). It doesn't always know what the codes mean, but it will at least report them. I'm pretty sure it only supports communicating with the EFI ECU on the X.

I agree that it is too expensive and if you have a supported adapter then PCMSCAN is the non-shop version of the same program. It does read & clear codes on my X. The clearing process is much quicker than ECUFlash, so I'm not sure what they're doing differently.
