Grimspeed EBCS Testing

So I had a chance to test the new Grimspeed 3-port Electronic Boost Control Solenoid on a Evo X MR this weekend. I want to thank Smanders for all the new logs and the time for testing. Here are some logs to show how it well it works!

I think this unit works very well to plug right into the stock harness and be able to control boost from the stock ecu!

I had thought about buying one but it disappeared from their website under Evo X (they have it listed for the 8 & 9). I ended up ordering a Perrin instead.

I haven't seen any 3 ports that have impressed me yet. I can hold similar boost to your post with just a GST boost pill accept after 7k where it falls to 18.5 at 7500rpm. But, with the right tune, you'll make more power by compensating mivec and timing after 6k rpm vs maxxing out the little turbo. I think 3 ports are more for those with bigger turbo's.

They will work with the bigger turbo a little better. But with using timing and mivec to make up the power it does push the engine a little hard! Any Mivec over 6500 is pointless to be adding to me!

Chris is right if you have a stock turbo it will be hard for it to hold big boost.....larger turbos like the red will have no problem at all

I would take 20psi at 7k for 99 shipped over stock 15psi at 7k any day of the week! Im sure Smanders will agree with me!

Its crazy to me how much this car now pulls to the redline. I'm so use to turbos running out of gas after 5500 rpms. Not any more with this EBCS.

Chris I will probably be ordering one in a week or 2 and I think with the mods on my car it should be fun tuning I will so a base pulls and then do the install and get to tuning I know my tuner will be able to make the boost nice and smooth
