AccessPORT EVOX Map Explosion!
COBB Tuning is pleased to announce another major roll-out of new Off-The-Shelf (OTS) maps for the 2008 Mitsubishi EVO X. Now, every performance map is available with an optional low wastegate duty cycle (LWDC) designed for cars currently suffering from overboost issues. These new maps lower the duty cycle controlling the wastegate, increasing the volume of exhaust gasses that bypass the turbine, reducing turbo shaft speed and the resulting boost levels.
This latest release doubles the number of maps available for the EVO X, bringing the total number of maps to over 120 each for the GSR and MR models. These new maps will make it even easier for EVO X enthusiasts to find an Off-The-Shelf map that optimizes their cars' modifications and its response. COBB Tuning's continued dedication to providing the ultimate tuning solution for the EVO X has resulted in the world's largest Off-The-Shelf map database.
Stay tuned for additional exciting news regarding the COBB Tuning AccessPORT and the Mitsubishi EVO X. We're not done yet!

What are the symptoms of the "overboost" condition? Is this recommended on a stock MR in a cold weather climate?
My AP came to my house on Monday - would it have these maps loaded?
Thanks

Overboost would be a car that is hitting very high boost numbers, 2-3lbs beyond what the target in the map calls for. Look at the map notes and you can see the boost levels we are targeting. We believe this is due to the fact that not all EVOX have the same boost control system, or rather, a system that is calibrated differently from car to car. Some cars need the restrictor pill mod, some don't.
1. So, our revised advice is to install the normal map and run it. If you hit the boost targets without going too far over, you do not need to alter the restrictor.
2. If you don't hit your boost targets, remove the pill.
3. If you run the with the pill installed and you overboost, run the lower wastegate duty cycle map.
