Question ECUFLASH: High Oct AFR Map will not let you lean out...

I am not sure if anyone noticed this while logging with larger injector...

But did anyone ever notice that the EVO X Ecu will not let you set the High Oct. AFR map higher than 12.9 during spool up? For some reason in this particular car... I can't figure it out for the life of me..

No matter what change I make the High Oct. Map the car sets the AFR map to 12.9 during spool. Even with LTFT disable patch. I tried different Hz settings for the (LTFT cruise from affecting WOT) same weather it is at 300 or 1000 Hz.

Maybe it is a MAF issue?

I can't get the car to lean spool... spool stays in 11 AFR's.

what is your openloop rpm vs load maps set too?

i think 3000rpm is about 140 load?

I have that lowered as well it should not be a issue past 90 some load it should go open loop...

So it should be in open loop...

but even below 90 load it looks like it goes into open loop...

which has me baffled...

FP RED

Here is how the AFR's look (on the rich side) but no knock or anything of that nature...

I just can't lean up the spool...

Anyone have any ideas if the ECU has a limit during spool? Like the car cannot be leaner than 12.9????

injector voltage latency and scaling? with my brother's IX, that happened to us...we adjusted the voltage latency and scaling...not really sure with the X but that is my hunch..

Is this a 2010? I think they have lean spool enabled by default where it ignores the map more or less and on the 2008 is turned off. I would double check that toggle just in case either way, the latency/injector scaling combo might be another factor, I haven't heard of any limits of how lean you can go under boost. Generally 12.9 actually AFR is about is lean as you want it though, but sounds like you are 12.9 on the map and 11's on the wideband. Do you have a log of the "target AFR" stat as the car builds boost?

^^ i think he has a 2008..well basing it on what he "drives"...and yes the 2010's has the lean spool defaulted to on..

The car is a 2008 EVO X GSR USDM, FP Red, DW 1000cc. (not my car)

The scaling is set at 812.

I'm trying to get it leaned out during spool. The actual AFR is 10's low 11's. The map AFR is a constant 12.9 on the log.

mine hits 14.3 at 100 load so it's not as rich as yours there but then it goes pretty rich while spooling to like 12.2. i'll try to lean out my spool and see what happens.

guys don't get confused between Actual AFR recorded AND AFRMAP.

if AFR is indeed clamped then you will be wanting to monitor AFRMAP for comparison to other users...

Actually AFR will vary widley, and no conclusions can really be made about it...
