A few n00b questions on re-tune / and AMS tuning

Short and sweet of it: I have a tune from HB Speed using Cobb AP on 91 octane, and am moving to Chicago. Would it be beneficial to get the car re-tuned in Chicago for 93 octane gas? My current mods are AMS Downpipe and dual tip turbo back exhaust, UICP, ETS 4" intercooler, and HM Intake.

Second question: I assume AMS would be my best bet for tuning in the Chicago area?

Finally - would it make sense to move away from Cobb in favor of one of the other tuning platforms, especially if I had AMS do the tune?

Sorry if this is a basic question - I'm a bit new to this stuff.

Sell your AP, get a tune from ams

It's really rare to find a gas station without 93 octane in these parts, though I come across one here and there then flip out when I have to get out in the cold and 91 max is on the pump grrr.

Okay, so to make sure I understand - I should get a re-tune from AMS for the 93 octane gas. Correct?

Second though - is there any reason to keep to Cobb AP? As I understand it, I can get just as good a tune, if not better, getting an ECUTek or ECUFlash tune? And AMS supports both of these, correct?

If you are going to take it to AMS, why don't you ask their advise? I would trust that more than getting anonymous "expert" advise.

I have my car tuned by AMS with an ecu flash. I was extremely happy with the results. They are all super great guys. You won't be dissapointed

If you have the cash, a retune would net you some decent gains. Or maybe wait until you do a few more mods and have to get tuned agained.

I will definitely give AMS a call. I'm definitely leaning towards ECU Flash, but am concerned the features are not as good as ECUTek. I'll have to start doing some more research I guess.

For reference here is what HBSpeed was able to do with the car on a Cobb AP and my first tune:

Yes, we can make you some more horsepower on 93oct.

Yes, I think we are the best bet in Chicago for EVO tuning

I can tune any variant of the stock ECU you would like. AP, open source, ECUTeK

It would be good to baseline the car before we start doing any tuning, because I am sure it will probably make less power than that dyno you posted on our dynojet.

I know there are only a handful of E85 stations in Chicago but you could consider it. I love my corn juice.

I would get tune with Cobb AP through AMS then so you can still look into everything, logging and ****...

I must be overlooking something. Why not just download a 93 octane map for Chicago? Unless you want a custom tune.
