You tried to kill what???? The ROM you tried to flash has been edited in locations that are protected and ECUFlash isn't letting you write to the ECU. Colby programed ECUFlash so people don't brick their ECUs by messing with areas that you shouldn't. What were you trying to do??

1rst post, trying to kill an Immobilizer (meaning disable it I'm guessing) on an Evo X while you drive a IX. Sounds fishy to me.

Not even sure it can be done easily on a X yet but still fishy

meaning disable immo.

One of my friend imported a USDM Evo X 5speed, but lost his original key (except 1 key no immo).
That is why I tried to disable the immobilizer.
He could not start the engine at all.

I had evo9 but not anymore.
At this moment, I drive MK5 GTi for a while.
I'll find a new car , Enfini RX-7.
I'll give her a Haltech E11V2.

Am I Still fishy? -.-

How do you have definitions that allow you to edit the immobilizer? As far as I know, ECUFlash doesn't let you edit those areas which contain the vehicle serial number, VIN, etc. The only way I know to edit those areas are to use the Mitsubishi MUTIII.

EvoX ECU doesn't have an immobiliser per say..

AFAIK its all done via KOS/ETACS

Take the car to a dealer, get them to program a new key for you...

Actually if the ETACS & ECU doesn't match, it wont start. So if I take my ECU and put it into your car, it wont start. When the dealer installs a new ECU, they will hook it up to the vehicle & MUTIII. They have to enter the VIN/Serial Number into the new ECU. I've actually seen this first hand and they called it "coding the ECU" in Mitsubishi terms

Well it must be a bit more than just VIN encoding, because I can change my VIN and the car still runs... albeit with a "system error" message - lol

Can't you just take it to the dealer to purchase/reprogram a new key? Or are there no Mitsubishi dealers in Korea?

There is a Mitshubishi dealer in Korea but sucks...
They would like to handle with cars which they have sold.

Thanks SiC

well its going to cost you either way to get a new key encoded...

so you might as well try harder with the dealer...
