unlocking Evo X ecu?
not sue if its been brought up before but iv heard of a few X ecus that have been locked.can these be unlocked opensource or is it mitsi only?

Once it has a stock tune, you should be able to flash it normally.
If you can't flash it normally after it took the stock tune... then it didn't take the stock tune, as a stock tune is flashable.

I'm under the impression that alternative flash mode can write the whole rom and doesn't skip anything, but I'm not 100% sure so don't take it as fact.
In any case, I think you can flash anything when in bench mode, so maybe you can flash your tune in that mode? The only other possible things I can think:
-Maybe you copied your original rom that has the leftovers from AP / locking and keep flashing that same blocking data back
-you are just doing a regular flash and not benching correctly
-you aren't flashing the factory rom because it "looks' factory already to the checksums, so since nothing is different it doesn't write (this would be obvious in the log)

There is a chunk at the beginning of the ROM that is not written for safety reasons when you flash normally.
When you bench, the whole flash is erased and the entire thing is written.
