no, haven't seen this done on any Evos (based on a quick search it seems like most people use a walbro and a 044 inline like yourself) but I don't see why it would be that difficult to "fab" up. my blaqops walbro kit came with a plastic bracket that seemed like it could be easily adapted to fit a Bosch unit.

I don't think these are rated for in-tank installation. I'm not sure where the actual breakdown would be, but that should def be considered.

The Bosch 040 is rated for in-tank though and appears lighter weight (930g vs 1030g) and rated for higher pressure (94psi vs 72.5psi). Considering it is cheaper, I'm not sure what the downfall is... (possibly just less material / protection from the elements?)

I know a couple of guys that are running the bosch in-tank. They definitely did have to do a little custom fabbing and stuff to get it done, but I believe they've been happy with the results. I'll see if I can get one to chime in on this.

235lph vs 300lph. You're correct that they aren't rated for in-tank but they are routinely installed anyway. They technically aren't approved for E85 (according to Bosch) but that's exactly why most people install them! ATL offers them for installation inside of their surge tanks, as an example of a big name that ignores Bosch's official recommendations.

The documentation I saw said they were the same lph, but I guess this is a bit of controversy (or just a lack of clarity)

0 580 254 040 (Bosch 040), 102 l/h @ 6.5 bar
0 580 254 044 (Bosch 044), 200 l/h @ 5 bar
0 580 254 023 (Bosch 023), 168 l/h @ 5 bar (Rumoured to be the Nismo GTR upgrade pump)

But "Bosch Fuel Pumps have their flow rates defined in N-Heptane as part of their engineering specification. N-Heptane is a pure chemical and does not have the same viscosity and density as standard petrol. Hence the N-Heptane flow rate figures stated should be used as a general guide for comparison purposes only."
Were either of the bosch pumps in the AMS fuel pump test?

there are versions of the 044 that are designed for in tank installation.

I think it was last month's DSport that did flow testing on a wide variety of pumps...was a great article. They did a 044 but not a 040.

There are a lot of knock-offs of that pump, if that's what you mean. I just ordered a Jay Racing "044" but it isn't actually a Bosch.
