Question: Cams or Turbo

I have an option to do either cams or a turbo. What would benefit me more in the power gains? Turbo would be a Dom2.0 , cams would be BC most likely.

Current Mods
AGP piping
AGP IC
Injen Intake
3 port
non 02 turbo back single exit

mods to be added when the turbo/cams go in:
255 fp
injectors
02 dp with tial ewg

Thanks :]

What fuel / boost level?

If you are already choking out the stock turbo cams won't help too much. The turbo will most likely get you more power, but you will loose a little area under the curve.

The cams work pretty well on the X, but you may still get a lopey-er idle and some changes at part throttle that might be less desirable.

dont know what fuel levels yet but boost probably around 23-24 psi. Current boost is 23 psi on the stock turbo.

If you are on pump gas cams can kind of help the stock turbo, E85 don't bother.

I would vote turbo all the way.

as others have already said, turbo replacement will get you more power faster.

why do you want an external WG? you know this will require a new turbo manifold, right?

^Well you can do that stupid ATP downpipe with an external gate but its totally unnecessary. The EWG will screw your spool and it will be really expensive. Just buy the blouch 20psi actuator and be done with it for a wastegate. If you want an EWG go t3 kit.

It's enough to make you wonder if this is a higher-class troll. A DOM (which surges) vs cams that haven't been proven to make any power?

How bad does the Dom surge? Ive been contemplating cams for the last year, reading and re-reading about gains and pros/cons. The turbo just seemed like a more ideal way to get safer power while boosting the same pressure.
The ewg option was just to be able to hold boost better and not have turbulence in the exhaust piping = less restriction

if your addding the fuel upgrades with it, then turbo on the X's is the best.
