Looks like you just need to find certain tables and adjust them higher. Unless they are defined in the TCU or the TCU limits the clutch pressure on the RA.

nah the TCU would have its own pressure data BASED on the ECU torque information...

so still the end-goal is to crack the TCU !

There was a guy on EvoXforums who fitted the TCU from an MR to a RA with no problems, he also put 600 bhp plates in as well!

Is clutch slip really bad for the clutches in this application? Seems like the time is so short that it shouldn't cause any wear (we're talking a couple miliseconds), and at least there is no clutch wear replacement interval from Getrag/Mitsu.

I would think the extremely high pressure of S-Sport mode might be worse overall in terms of wear and tear. The shifts do feel harsher in S-Sport mode in my experience.

naa i would say that normal would induce more wear...

for example.. my old car inside the clutch master cyclinder there was this tiny spring and plate with a tiny hole in it.. to allow the fluid to go through the hole more slowly.. by this happening the clutch would engage slower and would case slippage untill the clutch clamps down all the way 100%

by taking this little plate out the clutch would clamp down right away but would cause a harsher feeling ride. after doing this mod i had no issues... Now with the S-sport modes i feel that this does the same thing.. faster harder clamping = little to no slippage.. which in turn = less wear... but harsher feeling shifts..

with the normal mode shifting it feels and sounds like somone is riding their clutch between shifts.. this is why i dont use this mode ever unless i'm not planning on doing any aggressive driving. if i have to i'll throw it in sport manual and giver.. but i drive 90% of the time in s-sport manual if you shift while not in boost there's no lurching harsh feeling shifts.

pretend your a bicycle.. your not going to try and shift in to the right gear as your climbing ... you shift before the climb and rev it out

No, it's in the TCU, not ECU.

would changing clamp load values in Normal mode to the values of S-Sport clamp load hurt the transmission over time?

It would basically shift as it does in normal mode, but use the clamp load of S-Sport mode.

what do you think, Bryan?
