Turbo Timer

Is there anyway to tune the stock ECU turbo timer to be based off of time instead of temperature?

Wouldn't temperature be a way better indicator of state rather than time?

The stock turbo timer goes off of throttle body temperature and I've only ever had it come in twice in the 3 years I've had my car. I personally would rather it come in everytime vs almost never...that's just me though.

im not sure id mess with my ECU JUST to get a turbo timing function. why not spend the pennies for a real one if you want that function? ive seen people get Greddy's for $30 ebay.

having said that, i have no clue if its modifiable.

An aftermarket turbo timer will just idle the car with the cooling fans at low speed and takes a considerable amount of time to cool the oil down.

The stock ECU will turn on the cooling fans to high speed which cools down the coolant and oil in less time but like you said, it would be nice to have this feature all the time.

I sit and idle my car with the AC temp dailed below 65, mode set to Auto. This will turn on the AC system to High and turn on both cooling fans to high speed.

My oil temp guage shows that the oil cools down from 220 deg to 185-190 deg F in roughly 3-5 minutes depending on the outside temp. If I open my hood, only takes about 2-3 minutes.

Some people might say its overkill and such an inconvenience but I love my Evo and dont mind taking the extra 3-5 minutes.
