4b11 in other vehicles..

thats a shame! its seem stupid to try and engineer the NA motor to take a turbo when there is already a great turbo engine avaliable!
still might mean you could drop the internals form the 4B11T engine into the other motor and get basically the same engine???
Chris.

The engine in the Genesis is heavily detuned. Look at the Edmund's article here. http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/au...iscoupeact2500

Well, I didn't realize that hyundai was making a coupe version of the genesis, so I guess I was wrong. Either way, it will still be a different motor, as it will share the basic block with the 4b11 but the internals and heads are unique to the mitsu. The uniqueness of the EVO's motor has been stated many times in the early info about the 4b11 and global "sharing" of the block. The block is only a small part of what makes the whole motor what it is, remember that. The genesis should be an interesting car, though. It's definitely no EVO, but then again it's not trying to be.

I'll be going to a Genesis training class next month and will talk to some of the overseas instructors. I may be able to get my hands on the training manual(s) and possibly a few pic of the engine if they have one on site. I know from EVO X training that the 4b11 in the X has 90% of its parts redesigned. Mitsu, Hyundai, & Chrysler are all "in bed" together with the world engine. I wouldn't be surprised if Hyundai bought technical info from Mitsu. Remember the precis / excel

In one magazine this month, I read that the genesis motor is a detuned motor of the evo, has 9:0:1 compression, and can run 29psi no problem. I forgot which but it was one of the major ones..
