Hi, does anyone else hear a "slap" at times when you first put your car in gear and drive off? Sometimes, when its cold or the car hasn't been driven, I'll hear a "slap" from the clutch/ transmission area.

Is it just me, or this is normal?

Clunks are normal. I'm sure what you're experiencing is just normal evo drivetrain noise.

Every awd car I've ever owned has done this. It only does it when letting the clutch out to the engagement point abruptly. It's probably just the rear diff clunking a tiny bit when the driveshaft has a tiny bit of free play in it. I wouldn't worry about it, it isn't hurting anything. As someone above mentioned it's just normal transmission noise.

i just dropped mine off at the dealership and they found input shaft bearing bad and tranny was making noise and also clutch was slipping due to it being covered in oil
