I have this intake to and no you don't need to extend the maf sensor wiring. You cant see it but you can see the wires going to the maf in his pic. As the intake makes a 90 going down its on the inner side (facing the driver).
Quoting my buddy on how My Evo sounds with just the intake.

the bov tubing is gone, you reculate the hks to the intake thus insted of a long bov return pipe it shortens it to 3 or 4 in. on mine i had to cut the stock bov return pipe to make it work
no sensors thrown off. feels and drives great.
