100% stock internals, 2200 miles. Between the stock turbo, the 20g and the s200 and the drag strip It's logged at least 60pulls at 30+psi. Still smooth, and blow-by free!

Look at the dyno sheets in the video, I think their claim of 500hp is crank, not wheel.

^ Yeah, they only hit 400 at the wheels. The video is confusing.

Why does this surprise you? The 4B11 has the same bore x stroke as the SR20, and also aluminum block like the SR20. The SR20 has been around since 1991 and plently of people have been making 500whp on stock internals.

You'd better hope that Mitsu could engineer a motor that's as robust 16 years later.

It surprises me because that's a lot of boost for totally stock internals. The other thing that surprises me is that I have not seen a thread where a 4B11 has gone down yet. I keep waiting for it.

Are SR20s that see 30psi built at all? Headstuds? Pistons? I haven't spent any time in the Nissan camp.

yea, this is true, both of you are correct. The Youtube description says "600 hp beast" (which i assumed was crank), so im with Thegame, the video is a bit confusing.

Not too many SR's doing 30psi unless they're drag racing. Reason being, people are hitting 400+whp at 20psi with cams, intake manifold and a big turbo. Somewhere around 500whp, it is advisable to upgrade the pistons, rods, and head gasket, though not necessary. Granted... don't know how long it'll last at those power levels, but they're known to hold up for a while at least. Basically though, in the 400-450whp range, no point in upgrading the internals. Not bad a for a motor that came out in 1991.
